Manufacturing Services Technician - Electrician

What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Manufacturing Services Technician within our Precision Casting Facility in Derby.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance repairs on production manufacturing assets and all associated production equipment. Occasionally you may also be required to undertake small electrical installations. You will also provide support to the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineers on projects and improvements.
The Precision Casting Facility is Rolls-Royce’s largest domestic facility and home of the single crystal turbine blade. The PCF is a high-volume single crystal HP and IP turbine blade manufacturer for a multitude of products, employing world class processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques.

You will be working for the Rolls-Royce Technical Authority for Aerospace Engine Test Facilities. In this role you will be working with colleagues locally (either in Derby or Bristol), and opportunities also exist to work more widely within the UK as well as Internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilise hand tools and test equipment to deliver customer requirements.
2. Use drawings & data to inform and implement the most effective approach towards capable electrical systems.
3. Collect, organise, and analyse data in support of Key Performance Indicators for the Manufacturing Services Department as required.
4. Read and interpret machinery and plant drawings, electrical schematics, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues to enable customer requirements to be met.
5. Identify and recommend improvements to electrical procedures. Research and implement improvements.
6. Suggest improvements to work instructions to optimise the electrical installation / maintenance strategy.
7. Coordinate workload and electrical activities with customers, regularly communicating and interfacing with Production Leaders, Team Leaders, Design Engineers, Maintenance Team members and Production Operators.
8. Work with site Manufacturing Engineers to help understand and restore equipment performance to standard.
9. Consistently support asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard.
10. Support the effective induction of new team members and support cross-training of other team members.
11. Utilise problem solving skills and ability to make sound recommendations based on judgement, training, and previous experience.
12. Able to process Work Orders and pull reports from the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
13. Safely operate site specific equipment as required with appropriate training.
Who we’re looking for:

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the applicable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:
1. NVQ level 3 or equivalent in relevant Electrotechnical time served apprenticeship.
2. Current BS7671 Certificate (currently 18th Edition).
3. CompEx certification scheme Ex01 - 04.
4. Good understanding of Electrical Installations and maintenance operations.
5. Basic IT literacy.
6. Understanding of local and regional HSE Standards and regulations.
7. Able to work to engineering drawings.
