JOB TITLE: Group Communications Manager
HOURS: 37.5 hours/week, Hybrid working with 2 days per week on site

Tracker Group is a UK-based, not-for-profit think tank. Our aim is to enable a Paris-aligned, nature-positive global economy by aligning capital market actions with planetary boundaries. We are the home of the two award-winning research brands, Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker, which together comprise Tracker Group, combined under one corporate entity since 2022.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Group Communications Manager at Tracker Group is responsible for providing support to and deputising for the Group Head of Communications across all Communications activities.
Requirements
Responsibilities will include:
1. Assist in developing and delivering Communications workstreams
2. Support the Head of Communications in creating a mid to long-term strategy aligned with business goals
3. Provide expert advice on Communications activities to senior management
4. In close liaison with the Head of Communications, ensure that Tracker Group messages are delivered to key audiences in the appropriate manner, whether through the media, through support for our direct engagement programme, through programme specific launches and events or through ensuring participation in relevant international platforms.
5. Monitor emerging trends under the Head of Communications' direction
6. Help develop strategic themes to enhance brand awareness through media exposure
7. Contribute to a consistent Tracker Group style guide and support staff accordingly
8. Work with Research programmes to develop specific communications and media plans for research dissemination
9. Ensure high-quality outputs through editing and copy checking
10. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications activities using data and insights
11. Support media and external deliverables, including crafting messaging, managing media contacts, and overseeing press releases
12. Collaborate with the communications agency and manage external resources
13. Assist in crisis management if needed, including messaging and media outreach
14. Help plan and coordinate online and physical events
15. Provide Audio Visual support, including presentation and speech writing assistance
16. Ensure strong internal communications align with corporate values
17. Share best practices to promote continuous improvement
18. Minimize environmental impact in the role
19. Ensure all acquired Intellectual Property remains with Tracker Group and is properly managed
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Experience:
1. Experience of working in sustainability communications either in a non-profit organisation, think tank, corporate or financial sector
2. Experience in creating engaging social media content and developing a social media strategy
3. Significant communications experience in media, corporate communications, journalism or other relevant field.
Skills:
1. Management and Strategy: Management skills with the ability to support the delivery of an organisational communications strategies.
2. Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
3. Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into coherent narratives, reports, content for media outreach.
4. Writing skills: Excellent writing and editing skills including report editing, press releases, narrative development, blogs etc.

Experience:
1. Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications:
1. Education: A degree in a relevant field
Benefits
1. Salary Range: Circa £50,000- £55,000 per year, based on experience
2. Hybrid Work Environment: Minimum of two days in the office, with the rest either from the office or home
3. Annual Leave: 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with an additional day for every year worked (up to a maximum of 30 days per year)
