About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Land Surveyor to join us on our Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) section based in the Brackley area.
In this role you will be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environmental policies. You will manage and coordinate section's survey team to take a proactive approach and reasonable care to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of themselves and others. You will ensure the section's survey station network is established, communicated and made available to all survey and engineering personnel to download before construction begins. You will also provide a topographical survey in preparation for engineering works on site. In addition, you will review with the engineering team that sufficient information is available in the correct format to set out the works/enable machine control construction in accordance with the programme, and to resolve any inconsistencies in the information provided, including feedback of any changes made.
You will facilitate setting out the works in accordance with contract requirements before the work is programmed to start. You will arrange, where required, instruction/training to members of the engineering team who may not be familiar with survey equipment/software being used. You will also assist the Chief Land Surveyor where required to to develop survey budgets, assess and review actual costs, taking actions where appropriate, report any changes to the project manager and commercial team, and help with anything else deemed necessary.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications
* HND/Degree in Land Survey, or Geomatics or equivalent and experience within a similar role
* Experience in preparing survey-related Method statements and Risk assessments
* Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers
* Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings
* Proficient in using survey software like Trimble Business Center
* Solid report writing and compilation skills
* Ability to learn new software/methodologies that might be needed during the evolution of the Project (drones, point cloud processing etc.)
* Full UK driving licence is required
* CSCS card is required - Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Red Experienced
