About the Job:
* Be part of a brand-new, 6-bed Crisis Respite Hub opening in May 2025, providing short-term (typically 3-day) respite care for whaiora in mental distress.
* Deliver clinical assessment, triage, and interventions alongside a multidisciplinary team including Te Whatu Ora, MSD, and Police staff.
* Guide and direct support workers, contributing to a warm, homely, and safe environment rooted in Kaupapa Maori principles.
* Help reduce unnecessary inpatient admissions by providing holistic, community-based care.
* Rostered and rotating shifts, full-time permanent positions available, starting ideally no later than 12 May 2025.
About You:
* A Registered Nurse with mental health experience.
* Background in acute mental health or respite settings preferred.
* Knowledge of Te Whare Tapa Wha or other culturally responsive models of care.
* Emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and confident in advocating for whaiora.
* Open to learning Tikanga Maori and Te Reo Maori, with a passion for whanau wellbeing.
* Strong communicator, adaptable, and comfortable working in a new and developing service.
