We are looking for a Quality Engineer to work at our busy manufacturing facility in Marple. As a Quality Engineer Inspector, you will support the QEHS Manager in maintaining and improving processes with regard to quality control standards and customer requirements. You will also support in-process inspection, stamp holders to reduce failures and eliminate escapes and undertake investigations related to customer quality rejects. ( non-conformance reports, root cause analysis and determining corrective action) Undertake FAIRs and other similar compliance activities in accordance customer requirements and standards AS9102, AS9100 and AS13100. In process and production measurement and inspection of components, including first off inspection in accordance customers drawing and specification requirements and where required, compiling of dimensional reports to record findings. Monitor company equipment calibration and undertaking or expediting internal and external calibration activities. Monitor other relevant equipment servicing or plant system testing status. Support the QESH Manager with providing leadership, guidance and where applicable training and mentoring for production inspection stamp holders to meet customer requirements and eliminate escapes. Liaise with suppliers with regard to material supply quality issues or queries and assist with monitoring supplier performance. Assist with and/or undertake quality audits. Your Profile Essential skills QC Mechanical Inspection – Aerospace or similar equivalent highly regulated industry Ability to carry out detailed inspection using a variety of inspection and test equipment Competent level IT skills Ability to read and understand a variety of customer engineering drawings Proven track record in a responsible inspection/quality control role Experience of working with an established quality standard as well as customer requirements Able to demonstrate active involvement in root cause investigation an corrective action Experience working with a variety functions and/or stakeholders to resolve problems /achieve improvement Viable experience or appreciation of improvement methodologies Desirable skills Aerospace experience, preferably engines Experience of AS9100, AS13100 Knowledge of product quality, compliance and approval Understanding of cost of quality / non-quality Proficiency of working in an industry driving by zero defects / lean methods, e.g. SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA etc. Internal audit experience Ability to process map and draft documents, e.g. procedures, work instructions, forms Experience working with the (H&S) Safely Managements System, e.g. risk assessments, promoting safety Can you identify with this position and are you looking for a new challenge?
