About the role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN TA with a specialism in SEMH to join our dynamic team. This full-time, long-term position commences in January 2025, providing continuity and stability for our pupils. This role is part of a new addition to the team, aiming to enhance support for students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 1 and 2. The class size typically ranges between 10-15 pupils, all of whom require tailored, compassionate teaching strategies. The successful candidate will benefit from working in a school that values inclusive practice and employs a collaborative approach to supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN TA, with a specialism in SEMH.
• Knowledge and understanding of SEMH needs and best practices in supporting these students.
• Ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively with children, parents, and other professionals.
• Experience in providing targeted support and intervention strategies, including personal care if required.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, SEN qualifications).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support to students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 1 and 2.
• Develop and deliver individualised learning plans, tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to plan and implement appropriate teaching and learning strategies.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of lesson materials, ensuring differentiation to support pupil progress.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and social development.
• Support students in personal care activities when necessary, maintaining high standards of dignity and respect.
