Location: Manchester Start Date: February 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (through Teaching Personnel) About the Role: Teaching Personnel is excited to be recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Manchester starting in February 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to work with students who require additional support, helping them thrive academically and socially within a school environment. Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN), both in and outside the classroom. Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning activities. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and independence. Support students during classroom activities, helping them with their academic work, social skills, and emotional regulation. Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other staff to ensure that students receive the best possible support. Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback where appropriate. The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in a secondary school setting (though not essential). Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents. Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. A passion for making a difference and supporting students in reaching their full potential.
