Welsh-Speaking Behaviour Mentor – Blackwood
Location: Blackwood
Pay: £13.75 per hour / £89 per day
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are looking for a resilient, enthusiastic, and dedicated Welsh-speaking Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist school setting in the Blackwood area.
The school supports Key Stage 2 pupils aged 7–11 who are unable to attend mainstream school due to medical needs, anxiety, or complex mental health challenges. Many of the pupils are also diagnosed with autism and display behaviours that require specialist support.
Your Role Will Include:
* Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
* Developing and implementing behaviour support plans
* Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage in their learning
* Responding to challenging behaviour, using de-escalation strategies and physical intervention when necessary
* Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team of Behaviour Mentors
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
* Is fluent in Welsh (essential)
* Has strong behaviour management experience and a passion for working with children with additional needs
* Is confident, adaptable, and professional
* Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils
* Has previous experience as a TA, HLTA, or in a similar support role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
