Barking and Dagenham has exciting opportunities for a number of Band 6 Health Visitors. If you are a qualified Health Visitor we would like to hear from you. We are looking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive who are keen to contribute to the further development of our service. We work in close collaboration with Children Centre’s as well as other agencies to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families in our borough. For newly qualified practitioners, we have a Preceptorship Programme in place to aid your development. We also offer a wide range of ‘in-house’ and other training opportunities for continuous professional development through our learning and development department as well as clinical supervision and mentorship. You will need to have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team. You need to have excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries. You need to be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery. Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). High Cost Area Supplement – London This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary with a minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum (pro rata for part-time). Welcome Payment This post is eligible for the Trust 'Welcome to NELFT' Payment, a lump sum of 10% of agreed basic salary (pro rata if part time and exclusive of HCAS payments) (subject to a minimum of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000) and is open to all new applicants who are successfully appointed. Payment of the incentive is 50% of the lump sum at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and then 50% at the end of year two.
