A bit about the role…
The Markets, Partners and Place (MPP) Directorate leads Homes England’s delivery of major projects in priority places alongside development of new opportunities and projects. The Directorate also leads our response to devolution and the establishment of long-term partnerships with ambitious Combined Authorities via our Strategic Place Partnership (SPP) model.
We are seeking a candidate to lead our work in West and North Yorkshire, reporting to the Regional Assistant Director for Yorkshire, Tamsin Hart-Jones. You will be working with partners in the patch ensuring that priority projects with those partners get delivered. You will be a part of a team that has responsibility for delivering some of the Agency’s most important and ambitious development and infrastructure projects that achieve transformative regeneration as well as housing growth.
A bit about you...
You will be part of a friendly team that ensures regeneration and housing growth delivery occurs in our priority places by working with internal and external stakeholders. This means developing projects that meet both the ambitions of partners and our Strategic Plan but also develop business case propositions to draw-down available capital funds in an innovative and problem-solving way. Your role is to ensure that projects happen.
*
* You will be part of a team that works with partners throughout West and North Yorkshire, playing a leading role in promoting the Agency and the work we do.
* You will help develop and deepen relationships with local partners and act as a conduit between Homes England and our key partners, influencing key decisions and leveraging relationships to generate new business.
* You will lead or support multidisciplinary teams, drawing on skills and expertise from across the agency to drive progress in complex, long term regeneration and housing growth projects and enable delivery in priority locations.
* You will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of change to deliver our new operating approach and to work in a more place-based and impactful way.
* You will interface with the National Regeneration, Partnerships and Major Projects team to develop best practice in what we do and to achieve consistency throughout the Country.
* Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders. You will be a critical friend to partners, while also being supportive and engaging, you will be comfortable with having difficult and challenging conversations.
* Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an agency.
* You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
* You will be used to "spinning several plates" at once, meeting various internal and external deadlines and will always be looking for ways to improve.
You would be joining MPP at an exciting time. Strategic direction from government, tools to deliver and devolution represent opportunities to make a real long-term difference to our communities and we want the best people possible to be part of that change.
Who are we?
Homes England: The Housing and Regeneration Agency
We believe that affordable, quality homes in well-designed places are key to improving people’s lives. As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, we create thriving new places and transform urban areas, combining the full breadth of our powers, expertise, land, capital and influence to bring investment to communities and get more homes built.
How? We form long-term partnerships that bridge the gap between the public and private sector to meet local needs and aspirations. We use our influence to champion the creation of sustainable homes, communities and places that are brilliantly designed for the people that live there now, and in the future. And we use our funding and support to build a more resilient, diverse and innovative housing sector, helping new entrants in the market, encouraging modern methods of construction and design, and promoting the utmost attention to building safety.
Together with our partners, we’re accelerating the pace of house building, remediation and regeneration across the country, as we seek to deliver ever more affordable homes in places people are proud to call home for generations to come.
