A specialist air charter service for equine, livestock and other specialist air freight is seeking an Equine Transport Specialist to manage and execute complex logistical projects while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. The Equine Transport Specialist will have experience managing complex operational situations, managing stakeholders from the UK and abroad, and experienced at handling horses and animals. In addition, you will have a minimum class B driving licence, drive a 7.5T, and happy to work from home including travelling abroad.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage all ground operations across all products in UK & EU (and other global locations if required),
Develop and deliver the company’s global operational performance and execution of complex logistical projects - whilst ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare at a ground level.
Offer operational assistance at airports and other locations that the company has cargo moving between
Build, clean and collapse the specialised animal stalls that the company uses
Offer the expertise of loading, unloading and care of horses during charter and scheduled flights
Assist with maintenance of all cargo
Assist with stall inventory and transport from Warehouse
Assist with all general animal stalls logistics, collection and deliveries
Work within the team to offer all operational assistance both UK and abroad
Be a good brand ambassador
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Ability to manage complex operational situations ‘in the field’ and manage various stakeholders of different nationalities and cultures
Experienced at handling horses & livestock, and not scared to be in close contact
Good understanding of maintenance and basic engineering required for repairs
Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving working closely with colleagues as required and offering solutions as appropriate
Ability to think creatively and find solutions when faced with problems. A ‘can do’ attitude is a must.
Up to date / clean criminal history check
Acceptance that travel is a key part of the job, with long hours working aboard and away from home
Minimum class B driving license and able to drive vehicle up to 7.5T minimum
Desirables:
The ability to work in a second language
Valid EU drivers’ cards and driver CPC
Ability to operate forklift with appropriate license
Salary: £38,000 to £40,000 DOE
