Tax & Treasury Analyst - 6 Month FTC Location: Peterborough Department: Not Specified Salary Details: Not Specified Advertising End Date: 09 Dec 2024 Job Description Your role: The Tax and Treasury analyst(FTC) has been created due to the company's new ERP implementation. Due to UAT priorities and the current capacity within the teams, additional assistance is required during the UAT period to ensure that BAU tasks are completed and filing and payment deadlines met. The role provides exposure to Corporation Tax, VAT and Employment tax compliance cycles, and Treasury payments cycles and processeswith elements of project work and ad-hoc tasks. Day to day you will: - Assist with Corporation Tax analysis for FY24 returns - Take ownership of the Irish PSA for the year ended 31 Dec 24 and liaising with third party advisers. - Take ownership of the News Enterprise Inc - US compliance. Includes checking W8's & W9's, clearing US tax flags in our onboarding risk software and compiling monthly data - Bring the Corporation Tax analysis up to date for the current year with a view to implementing real time analysis prior to June 25 - Take automation of tasks forward by using Alteryx to create workflows across all taxes to create more capacity for the team and mitigate risk. - Work with the tax analyst and pick up additional tasks as required What we're looking for from you: - AAT essential, ACCA desirable - General accountancy systems knowledge - Medium to high level Excel skills - Previous tax exposure - understands broad rules across all three taxes (Employment Tax, VAT, Corporation Tax) - Must have knowledge of allowable/disallowable spend for all taxes - Self starter, must be able to pick up tasks with minimal training - Happy to take on tasks that are required, no matter how administrative - Team player and collaborative News UK is one of the leading media businesses in the UK and Ireland.
