Our current Business Development Director is about to embark on a development opportunity and we are looking to appoint a replacement to help our team maximize commercial opportunities in the UK region. The Director for Business Development – UK can be based anywhere in the UK but regular and frequent travel to Lineage and UK customer sites should be expected. Role Overview You will be responsible for business development, meaning selling; and organizing your team of business development managers to maximise commercial opportunities for new and existing customers by selling a variety of warehousing and integrated solutions; and associated value adding services; across all of Lineage’s UK region. You will be accountable for the UK sales funnel – and will organize the commercial team to ensure we build a pipeline of opportunities that allow us to reach our commercial goals. You will enjoy collaborating with operational leaders and other internal stakeholders so we are able to design and deliver a credible customer focused and commercially sound solution for customers. Who we’re looking for: We are looking for a seasoned commercial leader; with a track record of sales success, who can use sales methods and processes to help a team to ‘win at scale’, and (of course) a passion for sales/business development. You will also have: Demonstrable senior level management and leadership experience in a contract logistics/supply chain environment Track record of delivering commercial success on a relevant scale to Lineage (i.e. multi-national environment, 100m turnover business) Had responsibility and have delivered sales growth in a growing company Led teams in a professional sales setting (i.e. using sales force, implementing Miller Heiman, developing proposals and contracts) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels Have led teams of sales professionals ensuring they meet commercial goals This posting is a job preview and is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and job requirements.
