We are looking for a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant and supportive team in Darlington. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for working with young children and providing tailored support on a 1:1 basis, as well as contributing to general nursery duties.
* Position: Nursery Practitioner (General and 1:1 Support)
* Location: Darlington
* Contract: Full-time/Part-time (flexible options available)
* Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:
* Provide high-quality care and learning experiences to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
* Support the team in delivering the curriculum and daily routines of the nursery.
* Offer 1:1 support for children with additional needs, tailoring your approach to meet their specific requirements.
* Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, promoting a warm, inclusive environment.
* Assist in observing and assessing children’s progress, contributing to their learning journey.
* Work collaboratively with other staff members to create a stimulating, safe, and welcoming environment.
* Provide individualised care for children with specific needs, ensuring their full inclusion in activities.
* Support children’s emotional, social, and physical development.
* Prepare and engage children in activities that promote their cognitive and emotional growth.
* Help create a positive and supportive learning environment.
* Work closely with parents, guardians, and colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care and education.
Minimum Requirements:
* Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification (or equivalent) is preferred.
* Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting, ideally in a 1:1 role.
* A passionate, caring, and nurturing personality with a commitment to promoting children’s development.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
* A genuine interest in providing support to children with additional needs and ensuring inclusive care.
* An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to ensuring a safe and caring environment for all children.
