Compensation: Approximately $19.21 - $22.27 per hour. All individual pay rates are calculated based on the candidate's experience and internal equity.
Overview of Role:
This role will support and maintain a safe and secure work environment at all Clinica locations to which the security guard works. This position will be a primary point of contact for patients at the Clinic sites as well as providing regular and routine monitoring of the facility and grounds areas. This position may assist with minor housekeeping and/or grounds keeping duties as required at the clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Excellent customer service with patients, visitors and staff at the Clinic:
o Interact with and greet patients, vendors and staff entering the clinic in a friendly and professional manner.
o Maintain patient confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
o Assist patients with mobility as needed.
o Assist with transportation arrangements for patients and visitors including making reservations as needed.
o Maintain children’s reading area in waiting room.
* Protect Clinica property by maintaining a safe and secure environment:
o Make interior and exterior rounds as directed by management, but at least once per hour.
o Ensure building security by checking locked entrances throughout the day and at closing.
o Monitor for signs of suspicious activity, report all incidents, and investigate concerns as directed by management.
o Enforce smoking policy in and around clinic building.
o Assist employees to their car during evenings and after clinic hours.
o Assist with safety drills.
o Participate as a member of the site safety team.
o Act as a primary or backup for security panel resetting.
o Act as a contact for property management.
* Clerical and other duties:
o Serve as primary visitor and/or vendor check-in; assist with deliveries when appropriate.
o Follow appropriate telephone protocol for patients and employees.
o Maintain a clean environment in the lobby and public areas of the clinic including restrooms and grounds.
o Assist with directing emergency personnel within the building during Rapid Response situations or other emergency situations as needed.
* Competent in receiving the Biohazard Vendor and following regulations.
* Completes annual Hazardous Waste training.
Position Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
* High School diploma or GED preferred.
* One year in a medical facility preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Bilingual in spoken Spanish and English preferred but not required.
* Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
* Basic computer, math, written and phone skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time.
* Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community is required.
