Job summary – What to expect:
As the Senior Clinical Scientist within our Research and Development team, you will manage post-market clinical research studies for product life cycle initiatives in the contact lens industry. Specifically you will:
1. Plan and manage all aspects of clinical evaluation of products, including write and/or reviewing protocols and related study materials, overseeing study execution, perform or oversee statistical analysis, write and/or review study reports
2. Participate in broader product management teams (commercial/marketing, professional affairs, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, under direction of clinical management
3. Strong research design knowledge, hypothesis testing and technical communication
4. Aware of literature and other knowledge related to contact lenses
5. Aware of basic ethics and regulatory requirements related to medical devices (GCP/ IRB/EC / FDA & ISO standards/ EU MDD/MDR, and applies under direction of clinical management.
6. Actively apply learnings from prior experience, current trends in clinical research, and competitor awareness to product life-cycle activity
7. Publishes or presents in scientific forums, as appropriate
8. Some travel to clinical sites, CROs, and meetings, as needed

About you:
We are looking for someone who has good attention to detail and orientation towards careful meticulous work alongside the advantageous experience:
10. Clinical or Research degree (Masters or PHD) in Vision Science or Visual Optics or Physiological Optics, or Optometry/ Ophthalmology.
11. Clinical licensure in UK desirable.
12. Optometry/ophthalmology knowledge/experience.
13. Understand biological and optical contributors to contact lens safety and performance
14. Research design, statistical analysis, medical writing, clinical research ethics and regulatory knowledge.
15. Experience in contact lens or medical device industry.
