Abbottswood MedicalCentre are recruiting for a Reception & Patient Services Manager.
This is a rare andexciting opportunity to join the Senior Team at the practice, to influence andimprove patient services and contribute to the strategic direction of thepractice.
This is a full-timepost, starting in September.

Main duties of the job
Tomanage the reception team, oversee patient services, assisting with the smoothrunning of the practice.
To lead andmotivate the reception team, ensuring an efficient and professional manner ismaintained.
To provide afocal point of communication between patients, doctors and other team members. Tolead on the Patient Participating Group (PPG) with the Practice Manager.
To act as a rolemodel, demonstrating and promoting the standards expected by the practice andcreating the energy and enthusiasm for the service.
To liaise withand assist the Practice Manager as and when required.
To work withother Team Leaders in a Senior Management role assisting the Practice Managerand Partners in the operations and strategic management of the practice.

Supervisory& Management Tasks
Responsiblefor managing and motivating the reception staff.
Co-ordinate staff to ensure all reception tasks arecompleted daily.
Act as a role model to reception staff, supporting,motivating them.
Promoting good staff relations on a daily basis and viathe PPG.
To act as Holiday Manager to the reception team andensure there is adequate cover across the team during holiday periods.
Ensure all Practice Protocols and Standard OperatingProcedures are understood and adhered to.
Ensure all staff are aware of the disciplinary andgrievance procedure and understand health & safety.
In conjunction with the practice manager supportreception staff in achieving their development plans.
Assesstraining needs within the reception area with a view to preparing individualPersonal DevelopmentPlans for reception staff.
Monitorstaff attendance, sickness absence, annual leave and daily rotas.
Ensure cover and suitable contingency plans are inplace for all leave, including unforeseen absence.
Undertake the return-to-work interviews, notifyingmanagement of any anomalies.
Be the first line of management to deal withdisciplinary matters, speak to reception staff when appropriate, and notifythem of any action. Accurately document all incidents and outcomes,
ensuringthat the practice manager is kept informed.
Assistwith the appropriate recruitment and selection procedure for receptionstaff.
Provideinduction training of all new staff to agreed standards and ongoing review
Undertake, in association with the Practice Manager, three-and six-month reviews.
Assist with and minimise potential problems that maylead to complaints.
Coordinateand facilitate staff meetings.
ReportIT issues to the IT team behalf of reception and clinical team.
