REED are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a fast-paced commercial construction business, specialising in the residential groundworks sector. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to build on their previous experience and develop their career within their Accounts department, reporting into the Group Financial Controller. The successful candidate will support a variety of accounting functions, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, intercompany charges, and reconciliations.
Accounts Assistant
* Location: Ringwood, Hampshire
* Job Type: Full-time: 8am - 4pm (flexibility to start later at 9am and finish at 4pm)
* Up to £32,000 per annum (FTE)
Day to Day of the role:
* Assist with purchase ledger invoice checking, entering, and monthly reconciliation of statements.
* Identify intercompany cross-charges and raise necessary invoices.
* Code and enter expenditure for company credit cards.
* Provide analysis reports and supplementary documentation to Managers and Directors.
* Record and store asset purchase and disposal information.
* Take an active role in our transition to new software in late 2024.
* Assist with month-end closures and supply of year-end information to external Auditors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* General accounts experience is essential.
* Part Qualified AAT / AAT Qualified or similar is required.
* Experience with Sage50 Accounts software is an advantage.
* Competence in Excel.
* Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work to deadlines.
* Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
