HR & RECRUITMENT ADVISOR - Home Based (Reasonable Travel)

We are looking for a dynamic and empathetic individual to serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers. You will provide knowledgeable advice on people policies and processes, develop and enhance ways of working, support the delivery of our HR strategy throughout the employee journey, and collaborate effectively with your colleagues across the business. You will work closely with our Head of HR, L&D Manager, and HR Administrator, contributing to projects that deliver agile and professional solutions to meet the HR needs of our team and organisation. Your expertise and dedication will be vital in supporting our HR strategy and fostering a positive, people-centric culture.
Location: Home Based with reasonable in-person attendance at meetings (Normally London, Milton Keynes or Birmingham).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the delivery of the HR Strategy across Recruitment, Employee Relations, Resource Planning, Engagement, Payroll and Systems
2. Take ownership of the People HUB (supported by SAGE) and drive continuous improvement
3. Provide advice and support on all areas of HR, Payroll and Recruitment, including the application of Employment Law, HR policy and best practice, escalating to Head of HR where appropriate.
4. Support the development of HR Administrator
5. Manage specific areas of HR administration, including monthly payroll, employment changes, family leave, and HR reporting
6. Oversee the collection of data for audits and funding applications
7. Develop and maintain company policies that comply with current regulations, align with the CILEX business agenda
8. Ensure managers are equipped with the skills and resources to effectively manage workforce issues
9. Support recruitment activities by monitoring applicant engagement with roles, make recommendations for challenging roles, attend interviews as required and cover day to day recruitment activities during absence of the HR and Recruitment Administrator.
10. Oversee absence management processes, providing guidance and recommendations for improvements, and coordinating medical referrals
11. Provide support to Head of HR and Other team members on HR related ad hoc projects and cover for Team Member holidays as required.
To Apply You Will Need
12. A minimum 2 years of experience in a generalist HR role
13. CIPD level 5 or a commitment to pursuing certification
14. GCSEs at grades 6 or above (Including English and Maths) or equivalent
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
16. Demonstrable experience with 2 or more HRIS or ATS (systems) - preferably SAGE
17. Strong up to date knowledge of Employment Law, Regulations and HR practices.
18. Confidence in providing knowledgeable professional advice
19. The ability to critique and review employment policies
20. Skills in analysing HR data to identify trends and deliver improvements
21. To be a pro-active team-player who can also work autonomously
22. Effective communication skills with the ability to listen and respond to the needs of diverse stakeholders
23. Great organisation with the ability to manage multiple demands and prioritise effectively
