A rewarding opportunity is available for those passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs. We are seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a well-established special needs school in Slough starting November 4th, 2024. This school provides an inclusive and supportive environment for students aged 2 to 19 who have Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The position offers a unique chance to contribute to the personal growth and independence of these students through a personalised approach to education. Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour for weekly training sessions on either Monday or Tuesday.
Your role will be to support students in both their educational and personal care needs, helping them engage with classroom activities, build essential life skills and thrive within a nurturing learning environment. Collaboration with teachers to deliver lesson plans and adapt to the individual needs of each student will be key, as well as participating in regular training to enhance your understanding of SEND education.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in English and a genuine desire to work with children who have special educational needs. Prior experience is advantageous but not essential, as we are looking for individuals who are energetic, adaptable and eager to learn. While a higher education qualification is welcome, it is not a requirement—what matters most is your commitment to this field.
Pay starts at a daily rate of £93.48, increasing after 12 weeks. This is an excellent chance to join a caring community and have a lasting impact on students' educational journeys.
