The Job:
* Stay updated on legislation, policy, and guidance affecting fleet operations, maintenance, driver responsibilities, and working time directives. Communicate changes in regulations and ensure their implementation.
* Schedule regular inspections of fleet and contracted vehicles to verify compliance with legal obligations.
* Monitor vehicle maintenance, driver defect reporting, and record-keeping to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet service maintenance schedules in alignment with commitments to the Traffic Commissioner.
* Perform periodic checks on driver licenses, CPC requirements, and driver records.
* Assist the Transport team in educating drivers and supervisors on legal responsibilities, such as daily vehicle checks.
* Generate compliance reports for Senior Managers covering fleet safety, speeding, overloading, and traffic offences.
* Maintain and analyse a database of road traffic incidents, highlighting trends and improvement areas.
* Support investigations into adverse events, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
* Ensure accurate data handling and system integrity for fleet compliance systems. Maintain and update all fleet records to statutory standards.
* Ensure drivers’ hours records are reviewed every 28 days, and VU downloads occur within 90 days.
* Support third-party audits of BES fleet compliance systems.
* Track and report road traffic and minor incidents involving BES vehicles, providing timely updates to senior management.
What we need:
* Proven ability to manage administrative tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
* Background in fleet management or transport compliance is highly advantageous; full training will be provided for those without prior experience
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with drivers, supervisors, and senior management
* Experience in conducting audits and investigations is a plus
* Demonstrates a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and thorough record-keeping.
* Capable of identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
* Adept at supporting cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
* Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle complex tasks efficiently.
* Proficient in maintaining detailed records and handling data with precision.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.44-£12.20 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
