Production Operative – Rubber Moulding
Location: Batley, WF17
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Hourly pay negotiable, depending on experience
About Our Client:
Our client provides specialist expertise and high-quality products for material processing, surface protection, and related services. They are a leading manufacturer of rubber rolls and mouldings, offering engineered solutions across industries such as mining, quarrying, material handling, mineral processing, food, pharmaceutical, and printing. They are expanding their workshop team and seeking a Production Operative to join their Rubber Moulding department.
The Role:
As a Production Operative in the Rubber Moulding department, you will play an essential role in the production of rubber mouldings and related products. You will work as part of a team and perform a variety of tasks, including machine setup, mould tool changes, and process troubleshooting. Full and ongoing training will be provided to candidates who are new to vulcanising rubber products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with the Production Foreman to prioritise production tasks.
* Carry out mould tool changes as per the daily production plan.
* Produce first-off samples with necessary documentation and specifications.
* Set up machines and ensure the correct materials are available for production runs.
* Conduct mould tool sampling and generate sample reports and setting sheets.
* Recommend modifications or improvements to increase productivity, quality, and reduce waste.
* Monitor the moulding process to ensure correct cycle times and quality standards.
* Troubleshoot issues in production processes and correct as necessary.
* Ensure all machinery is clean and left free of tools and equipment.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Experience with rubber or plastic moulding machines is preferred.
* Up-to-date Forklift/Lifting certification (optional but desirable).
* A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently when required.
* Flexible and positive approach to working overtime, including weekends if necessary.
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
