Position Overview
The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering Specialism to teach courses across a range of levels and to be a personal tutor on the courses in this curriculum area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners.
2. Follow agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules, and student monitoring procedures.
3. Participate in internal verification activities and organize external verification.
4. Support, motivate, and empathize with young learners, including monitoring their progress.
Qualifications and Skills
We seek candidates who hold a Level 3/4 qualification in hairdressing and barbering, with demonstrable recent industrial experience. You will also need to have:
1. A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
2. Awareness of academic quality standards.
3. Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the subject and education.
4. Internal Verifiers qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
5. Strong planning, preparation, organizational, and administrative skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
7. Proficiency in using new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
