At Infinis, our unwavering commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We operate a diverse range of low-carbon energy generators, harnessing the power of methane from landfill gas and disused mines to convert it into clean, renewable electricity. Our flexible generation model supports the National Grid through local power stations, battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, and solar power. We are on a transformative journey to support the UK’s ambitious goal of achieving net zero by 2050.
We value your experience and ambition. If you are passionate about sustainability and want to make a difference, Infinis is the place for you. Your work will directly contribute to our shared goal of a sustainable future.
Your role
As part of our highly skilled field-based operations team, you will perform comprehensive preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on our fleet of natural gas reciprocating engines and related plants to ensure optimal performance. Your work will involve identifying early warning signs of engine malfunctions, troubleshooting, fault-finding, rectifying, and rebuilding engines to restore operations.
It is essential that you have a strong mechanical engineering background performing maintenance, repairs and overhauls on gas reciprocating engines, ideally Jenbacher, Caterpillar, MTU or MWM engines.
What you will do
* Perform planned preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance, including overhauls, across a fleet of gas generation assets and associated plant.
* Identify and act on early warning signs of operational issues or potential breakdowns, collaborating with the team to implement preventive solutions.
* Conduct diagnostics on assets with recurring trips and performance challenges.
* Respond promptly to out-of-hours callouts, troubleshooting faults effectively and restoring equipment operation.
* Ensure that all tasks assigned by the Operations Performance Team are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
* Maintain detailed service reports of site visits following company standards.
* Ensure that personal van stock inventory is maintained accurately, booking out parts as used and that tools are calibrated and maintained in safe working order.
* Ensure HSQE and compliance procedures are adhered to, reporting any incidents to prevent accidents or future breaches.
* Embrace a culture of innovation and best practices by attending internal and external training courses and actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational projects.
The North region has sites around Warrington, Wigan and Manchester. This is a Monday – Friday day shift with a call-out system working Monday—Sunday to attend breakdowns, with paid standby and call-out payments for each call-out attended on a 1/8 rota basis. We also offer a voluntary standby service, an opportunity to enhance your earnings and further reward your dedication and commitment.
