In this role, you'll work closely with individual students to identify learning gaps and design personalized two-hour intervention sessions aimed at closing these gaps. Your sessions will focus on helping students catch up to the appropriate curriculum level while building their confidence, academic skills, and addressing any individual barriers to learning. Some students may also present with challenging behavior, so experience in managing such behavior is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver engaging, tailored two-hour lessons to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Focus on closing learning gaps in Maths, English, and Science at Foundation and/or GCSE levels.
- Provide one-on-one support to help students build their confidence, self-esteem, and academic abilities.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and Complex Needs.
- Maintain a positive, calm, and supportive learning environment, with effective behavior management strategies.
- Monitor and track each student's progress, adjusting sessions as needed.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to engage them in their learning.
- Deliver sessions at various locations, including schools, community centres, libraries, or the students' homes.
- Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience teaching Maths, English, and Science at Foundation or GCSE level.
- Familiarity with multiple examination boards for GCSEs.
- Previous experience working with students who have additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and/or Complex Needs.
- Strong understanding of behavior management, particularly for students with challenging behaviors.
- Ability to work independently and plan sessions effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with young learners.
- A compassionate, patient approach to teaching, focused on individual student needs.
- Willingness to travel to various locations and deliver face-to-face sessions.
What We Offer:
- Flexible hours and a variety of locations across Greater Manchester.
- The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of vulnerable young people.
- A supportive environment that encourages professional and personal development.
- A competitive hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications.
- If you are passionate about ensuring that no child is left behind and want to make a real difference in the lives of students facing barriers to learning, we would love to hear from you.
