Job Summary
The Projects Accountant is responsible for the tracking of revenue and spend on projects in the French and UK offices highlighting overspends and identifying possible areas for savings and the
preparation of monthly financial accounts for the Campbell Scientific France subsidiary.
The Projects Accountant will also be responsible for the financial functions pertaining to payables, receivables, payroll, general ledger and monthly management accounting for the French subsidiary and will assist in the budgeting process.
Essential Functions
* Maintain accurate project accounting records, including revenue recognition and cost allocation.
* Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and forecasts.
* Provide insights into budget variances and recommend corrective actions as needed.
* Prepare monthly management accounts for the French subsidiary and ad hoc reports as required.
* Oversee receipts, disbursements and expenditures of money or capital assets of the French subsidiary in conjunction with the General Manager.
* Preparation of monthly payroll files (in conjunction with 3rd party payroll service) and supplier payments.
* Ensures that reporting and accounting practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements including generally accepted accounting principles and financial policies of Campbell Scientific Inc.
* Support external audits related to financial statements and project finances.
* Collaborate with auditors and UK finance team to complete year end audit activities.
* Implement cost control measures to optimise profitability.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in financial management.
* Streamline workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
* Monitor, and enforce policies and procedures that protect company assets and mitigate liabilities and risk to the company under the direction of the Regional Controller.

Required Skills
* Previous experience of project and management accounting.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Evidence of working with remote teams and establishing strong working relationships across cross-functional teams an advantage.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language; fluent in English (written and verbal), French language skills a benefit.
* Senior level proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically in Excel.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
* Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
* Highest level of ethical standards.
* Excellent listening skills, asks questions, open to learning new ways of doing things, able to take directions, comfortable providing input on improvements.
Required Education and Experience
* 3 or more years’ experience in a private industry finance environment.
* Experience of project accounting and revenue recognition rules.
* Report writing skills an advantage.
Work Environment
* This is a full-time job. Extra Hours may occasionally be required. Travel may occasionally be required. This job operates in a clerical office setting in Shepshed, UK.
