Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining technical budgets, defining requirements, planning and executing tests, and managing the systems engineering process.
You will work closely with flight hardware and drive the technical development of our Space Systems missions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Make trade-offs for the selection of the best conceptual architectures and designs.
* Define architectures (mechanical, electrical, fluidic...) and designs from specifications.
* Lead the systems engineering and design to meet technical systems and requirements.
* E nsure compliance to our quality standards (EN9100) and/or ECSS and/or tailored PA Plan.
* Responsible for project delivery on-time and on-budget, with support from the Head of Operations for overall resources management.
* Act as a point-of-contact with established players such as lead space primes and/or space agencies.
* Technical & line management of other project, mechanical, design, manufacturing and analysis engineers.
* Responsible for the adequate increase of TRL of the system / subsystem / components.
* Definition, implementation of the development and verification approach, producing corresponding documentation.
* Technical support to Business Development for bids / proposals and developments.
* Overview of the whole product lifecycle, from design to fabrication, through assembly, integration and tests.

Requirements:
* BS in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience leading satellite developments as a Systems Engineer.
* Experience across all phases of a program life cycle.
* Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, mission-driven, and a team player.
* Bonus: Experience in GNC, Electronics, or Software.
Salary:
£80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
