An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specification Designer to join the Design Department team based in Swindon. The role requires a candidate with high manual dexterity, technical acumen, and an eye for detail, as they will be responsible for advising, specifying, and carrying out detailed and accurate heat loss calculations for Grant Engineering customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Calculate heat loss for domestic and small commercial properties.
2. Design underfloor heating (UFH) packages and produce detailed schematics.
3. Take ownership of heat loss and UFH requests, making direct contact with customers to obtain specific requirements.
4. Adopt a technical sales approach when dealing with customers, aiming to maximize opportunities by discussing options for associated Grant products.
5. Ensure that UFH design information is correct and reflects customer requests.
6. Communicate with the external sales team regarding the scope of work for underfloor projects.
7. Carry out necessary amendments accurately.
8. Report all results correctly to Administration for quoting.
9. Ensure drawings and line drawings reflect the requests and design specifications.
10. Respond to telephone and email inquiries directed to the Design Specification Department.
11. Handle on-site visitors seeking more information about our products.
