We are looking for a Producer to join our small but very solid agency production team. You'll be a specialist in the discipline of film/content campaign production, specifically from an agency perspective. The role is integrated, dealing with briefs across TV, digital, social, print and idents, often expanding further into experiential and podcast. First-hand experience of all those forms is not vital, but a problem-solving attitude and willingness to pro-actively learn about them, is. You will have a knowledge of agency and shoot production processes and will be able to foresee potential budgetary, legal, IP, health and safety and copyright issues with a script/idea and offer creative solutions. You will be comfortable shoot producing for quick turnaround, smaller budget, in-house productions.
You will be responsible for taking the agreed creative idea and bringing the Agency’s wishes to life. This role requires strong production skills, creative problem solving, and a passion for film craft.
Aware of emerging and current talent, you will engage the best suppliers for each project and will manage the entire production process, from idea to execution to delivery, working in partnership with the client, creatives, account team and manage the production and postproduction process. They also manage the budget for each project and negotiate with the pre and postproduction companies.
WORKING WITH...
* Internal; Creative Department; Creative Services; Account Management; Client Service; Commercial Production; Studio; Finance; HR/Talent Team.
* External: Production and Postproduction teams including Sound Engineers, Editors, Prod Co Producers/Eps, and Directors. Cost Controllers; Casting agencies; Photographers; Illustrators; Creators; lead clients for the project.
* You may have line management responsibility for junior members of the team; Intern, Production Assistant, In-house Editors and Directors.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supporting the creative team and their idea; representing, owning, championing, and finding creative production solutions to bring the idea to life.
* Client relations. Be confident in front of clients and lead key production client meetings like PreBids and PPMs. Able to explain the production quote to a client or cost controller in detail, justifying all costs at the pre-production meeting, including types of insurance.
* Producing concept work before the project is live. This may include Animatic; Mood Films; Soundscapes.
* Sourcing and managing third-party relationships; directors, casting agents, actors, artistes, locations, animators etc. Collaborating with colleagues to source ideas.
* Willingness to work with network and holding company group partners. Such as in-house production and affiliated Omnicom Production companies/teams.
* Managing the production budget, and the associated administration, in accordance with client and agency expectations. Partnering with Finance on Purchase Orders, invoice approvals, ongoing reconciliations and prompt job wrap.
* Supplying and optimising commercials to air/delivery as per the technical specs and channel best practices. Being comfortable with multi-channel deliveries across TV/AV/Digital/Social/Audio/OOH.
* Meeting clients, listening to their needs and be trusted to manage the process for them.
* Awareness of rules surrounding usage fees, talent, contracts and shooting aboard.
* Presenting ideas and routes to the client and the internal teams.
* Involved in project recruitment and selection decisions.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:
* Demonstrable experience in a similar role in an agency, or a mix of agency and production company experience.
* Ideally passed the IPA Agency Producers course and/or the APA Masterclass course.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills are essential.
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
* Up to date on the latest techniques and possibilities of channels – TV, Social/digital, radio.
* Knowledgeable about the legal and regulatory codes in relation to advertising.
* Able to ballpark quotes when presented with a script to see if it is likely to be within budget and offer solutions that could help with budget challenges.
* Skilled at making and producing content in collaboration with a matrix of partners – for example being up to date on which directors are right for which treatments and having contacts for videography and editing on varying budgets.
* Skilled negotiator to navigate multiple expectations and needs whilst managing the budget and maximizing the quality of the work.
* Experience navigating through conflict in high pressured situations and techniques to reduce stress under pressure.
* Trusted representatives of the work and the agency.
* Credible in the production world with relationships with production companies, post and sound companies.
* Proficient at process management skills, presentation, logical thinking and creative problem solving.
