Circa £55,000 Benefits Reading (Hybrid) Permanent Your New Role Our client is a public sector organisation, looking for an ambitious Category Manager to join their well established Procurement team. The role itself is a nice mix of strategic delivery, as well as, BAU Category responsibilities. You will be tasked with developing and implementing category strategy, being involved in tendering processes, business risk, contract evaluation and negotiation, contract management, with a mindset of delivering key commercial outcomes. Ensuring Your Success Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience working within a Category Management, Contracts or Buying role within the Public Sector. Strong commercial acumen is essential to success, with a natural problem solving outlook. Experience developing commercial strategy is key, with governance in mind. Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Expert negotiation skills are a must, with the ability to influence.
