Part Time Accounts Supervisor - St. Austell - £30,000 FTE
Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a long established supplier of specialist products to the industrial sector. The company seeks to recruit an Accounts Supervisor to join them in a permanent contract to be operated on a part time basis - ideally four days per week between 0830 - 1600 but with some flexibility to suit the successful candidate.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a standalone role where the Accounts Supervisor will play a lead role in managing the day-to-day operational financial controls of a small but growing business. Key responsibilities include:
1. End-to-end management of the company’s daily, weekly and monthly accounting processes
2. Assume control of the accounts payable function (approx. 200 suppliers), posting invoices to Sage, authorising supplier payments (occasionally working in foreign currency), and reconciling supplier statements
3. Handle the accounts receivable function, entering customer account details, raising invoices
4. Monitoring of the aged debtor function
5. Daily bank reconciliations
6. Production of a range of reports - P&L, balance sheet and aged debtor lists etc.
7. Manage and reconcile credit card transactions
8. Work closely with the MD in the production of cashflow forecasts and basic management accounts
9. Work closely with Chartered Accountants providing collated year end reports etc.
The role would be very well suited to an experienced AR/AP supervisor (or a very well experienced Ledger Clerk), or an Assistant Accountant looking to take on additional responsibility with a fast growing company, and under the mentorship of an established senior finance team. Candidates may be part/fully AAT qualified or possess relevant vocational experience, with at least 12 months of recent experience gained in a similar position. The business is technology focused, so good all-round IT aptitude including the use of MS Office products is essential. The role works with an energetic and experienced team that are dedicated to developing a highly successful business. The Accounts Supervisor will be a key point of contact across all departments of the business, so excellent communication skills are required in addition to the ability to supervise and develop an enthusiastic colleague.
