As a key contributor of the Customer Facing Tools team you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our enterprise scale device management solution. As our Full Stack Developer, you will support HID’s success by: • You will be part of our Customer Facing Tools team under the PACS (Physical Access Control Systems) business area, the PACS products include smart cards, mobile access and identifications, software, services and controllers for physical access control. • You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of an enterprise scale software solution for the management of physical access devices such as RFID and Biometric readers. • Integrating with complex software packages and cloud services. • Being that your work will be multinational; communicative English in speaking and writing is required. • This hybrid opportunity is based in Cardiff. Our current hybrid working model allows 2 remote days per week. What we will love about your background: You have experience of developing applications using Java that includes: • Relational database design. • Unit testing, and System testing of Java applications. • Knowledge of building REST APIs and WebSocket communication. • Basic knowledge of networking. • Experience of an ORM library such as Hibernate would be desirable. • Knowledge of GRPC would be desirable. You also have experience of developing frontend applications that includes: • Experience of developing applications using React.js and React Hooks. • Experience of JavaScript (ES6 syntax) programming. • Some experience of Typescript would also be beneficial. • Able to build great layouts using JSX, HTML and CSS. • Knowledge of consuming REST APIs and WebSocket communication. • Experience with Unit testing, and testing with Playwright will be beneficial. Although not essential, experience in the following would be advantageous: • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and security certification would be a plus. • Previous experience with RFID technologies / smart cards e.g. NXP Mifare Desfire would be desirable. Your Experience and Education include: • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (engineering, computer science) or demonstrative equivalent experience. • 5 years experience in professional Software Development. • You should be able to work with minimal supervision.
