Position: Temporary Night Shift Transport Assistant Location: Ham Hill Sewer Treatment Works, Unit 6, Brook Lane, Ham Hill, Snodland, Kent, ME6 5JX Hours: per week average at 40.38 / Rotating shift across 3 out of hours teams Salary: £31,496 Line Reporting Manager: Out of Hours Manager Principle Duties and Accountabilities: To ensure all out of hours queries and job delegation is managed effectively outside of usual business hours Roles and Responsibilities: Managing the in-house systems and databases (Weighsoft, CTrack, Ortec, AAIR) Liaising with Industrial, Commercial and Domestic customers to assist in the delivery of planned and reactive work out of hours Dealing with general telephone enquiries from customers and employees out of hours Ensure that all jobs are documented correctly and systems are up do date for the day shift to take over Being flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties to assist with the operation of the department Health & Safety: Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) states the general duties of employees at work It shall be the duty of every employee while at work to: (a) To take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work; and (b) as regards any duty or requirement imposed on their employer or any other person by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with them so far as is necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with Out of Hours Assistant Health and Safety Responsibilities are: To understand and comply with the company health and safety policy To influence and promote a positive health, safety culture within the organisation and lead by example To ensure all works activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with legislative, company requirements and the risk assessments To ensure housekeeping of the works and welfare areas are fully maintained To carry out comprehensively and complete in full, all company required documentation To report all health, safety and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours of it happening To ensure awareness of the company fire and first aid arrangements, and emergency evacuation procedure Qualifications / Competency: Previous experience in the transport, waste or logistics industry desired Must have the ability to take on responsibility for your own workload Proficient using Microsoft Office systems including; Word and Excel Ability to well under pressure In return: Company pension Death in service cover 20 days annual leave, enhanced with length of service Competitive salary Employee Assistance Programme / Health & wellbeing programme Support from a family run company that considers, your health, safety, and wellbeing as a number one priority Company Uniform Company events Free parking / On-site parking Referral programme
