Chief Technology Officer
The Chief Technology Officer will be accountable for myenergi’s product management, new product development and introduction, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of new products, and the in-life management of existing products. The CTO will be measured on delivery of customer-centric products that provide the optimal financial return for the myenergi business. Reporting to the CEO, the CTO will have direct responsibility for Product Management, Engineering (both hardware and software) and Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the transition of myenergi to become a product-led business, setting up appropriate product lifecycle management strategies and new product development and introduction processes.
2. Collaborate with marketing and finance to set go-to-market strategies for products and to review and shape in-life product revenue and profitability, ensuring myenergi achieves the best return for the investments made into the products.
3. Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and external customers to ensure the voice of the customer is gathered, analysed and disseminated through the organization; carry out appropriate product testing with customer focus groups.
4. Develop and manage myenergi’s product roadmap, leading the Product Managers and Product Owners, shaping the product suite to respond to customer needs and market demands.
5. Lead the Engineering and Software Engineering teams, ensuring high-quality, secure, and scalable products that meet performance and reliability standards.
6. Own the Product Development Lifecycle, covering concept validation, New Product Development, in-life development, maintenance & support, and product discontinuation.
7. Collaborate with the Chief Innovation Officer to transition products from innovation into the product development lifecycle.
8. Maintain a strong focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance, within all products and platforms.
9. Manage the product development budget ensuring that work-packages and products are delivered within budget, any variances to budget are identified early and managed appropriately, and product performance in market is measured against pre-development expectations.
10. Serve as a technology thought leader, staying updated on industry trends to guide the product roadmap.
11. Represent myenergi on external thought-leadership panels and industry bodies to shape future regulations and ensure myenergi’s interests are fairly represented.
Qualifications And Experience
1. Proven experience in a CTO or similar senior technical leadership role, ideally within consumer hardware, IoT, or software-led environments.
2. Expertise in managing the entire product lifecycle, with a strong understanding of security, scalability, reliability, and performance in technical platforms.
3. Demonstrated success in budget management and achieving maximum value from cost bases.
4. Skilled in leading cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Software Development.
5. Strong strategic vision and customer-oriented approach, driven by direct engagement with customers and key internal stakeholders.
