Downside School has a rare opportunity for a Registered Nurse (Paediatric), Registered Nurse (General) Part 1 of NMC Register to join the Health Centre Team.
About our Health Centre: We are a health provision in a Boarding School for UK national and international pupils. We have a minor injury and illness treatment room, an eight-bedded unit for in-patient care (if required), three GP led clinics each week, a Counselling and Wellbeing Team all of whom work together to support the day-to-day health needs of the School pupil population.

Who we are looking for:
* Someone with a passion for working in a busy health centre,
* with robust clinical skills and knowledge in assessing and treating a range of injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions.
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and understand the way in which different cultural expectations influence health behaviours.
* As a Nurse you will have the ability to work autonomously, in a team and have a commitment to partnership working.
* The ability to use your own initiative, prioritise and make informed clinical evidence-based decisions is essential.
This is a Bank Nurse position. Working hours would be determined by the needs of the Health Centre which is open for 34 weeks per year during our school term time.
The current shift pattern is 12-hour shifts which cover the shifts may include either single shifts or a combination of days, nights on call or working, and weekend shifts. The current shift pattern involves 12-hour shifts which cover weekdays or weekends. The team of nurses also cover on call overnight and may need to work if a child requires 24-hour care.
The Bank Nurse would be expected to attend staff INSET & training days as appropriate for the role.

* The hourly rate for the role is £19.57. In addition, there will be an enhancement paid of 12.07% to pay for holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks (inclusive of bank holidays). In addition, there is an on-call rate paid for any on call hours worked. This is within NHS Band 6.
