A charitable organisation based in Glasgow is looking for an individual to join them as a Financial Accountant. This will be to fulfil a 3-month contract. The opportunity is hybrid based with working hours being Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Your new role
Reporting to the head of financial accounting, your duties will include:
1. Creating statutory financial accounts that adhere to necessary reporting standards.
2. Reaching consensus on all matters related to accounting treatment.
3. Managing assets effectively.
4. Coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders to gather and verify information crucial for external reporting.
5. Closing books and consolidating financial results on a monthly basis and at the end of the year.
6. Handling all regulatory returns, such as VAT, gift aid, and statutory reporting.
7. Assisting in the execution of the pension scheme buy-out.
8. Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet is maintained.
9. Allocating overhead costs and processing costs, and calculating work-in-process.
10. Preparing and disseminating external and regulatory reports.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to be a fully qualified accountant or a qualified-by-experience accountant. Furthermore, you will possess proficient skills in adhering to and working within regulatory guidelines. You will have strongmunication skills, along with the ability to collaborate with others in a team. Excellent IT skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience is essential.What you'll get in return
