You will join a national team of over engineers and designers within the Marine Sector of Babcock. We are a leading design consultancy providing naval architecture, marine system engineering, electrical engineering, design modelling and project support services to the marine and defence markets.
The role
As a Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Day-to-day, you’ll:
1. Execute and deliver complex FEA analysis tasks.
2. Use your deep technical knowledge to support product development throughout the design lifecycle.
3. Provide technical support to key customers.
4. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of engineering outputs.
5. Generate appropriate analytical methodologies for the optimisation of stress analysis studies and produce appropriately justified technical solutions, interpreting, and converting analysis results into practical design outputs.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week,with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst
6. The role requires professional expertise, knowledge & experience in FEA.
7. Mechanical or structural experience within ships.
8. Nonlinear analysis experience
9. You should have experience in the use and application of ANSYS (preferable), LD-Dyna or Altair Hyperworks (desirable).
Qualifications for the Senior Marine Structure FEA Analyst
10. HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline
11. Degree level qualification is advantageous.
12. Be a member of a relevant institution (e.g., RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.) and hold Chartered status or have a route to Chartership.
