Your responsibilities and tasks:
The Business Manager – Valves and Pumps will be responsible for leading and driving sales growth, market expansion, and strategic initiatives within the Valves and Pumps Business Unit. This role involves identifying key areas for growth, developing and managing existing customer relationships as well as acquiring new potential customers thereby achieving sales and profitability targets. The Business Manager will also collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, project management, and product development, to enhance the market positioning and develop innovative solutions for customers across various industries.
1. Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the Valves and Pumps business across industries such as oil & gas, water treatment, chemicals, power generation, food & beverage, and industrial manufacturing.
2. Identify new market opportunities and establish strategies to increase sales, market share, and profitability.
3. Lead efforts to expand the customer base, ensuring long-term partnerships and sustainable revenue growth.
4. Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted promotional materials, campaigns, and sales tools.
5. Provide commercial leadership in pricing, margin management, and contract negotiations to ensure business objectives are met.
6. Support global and regional sales initiatives, aligning with the broader company strategy.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders.
8. Ensure excellent customer service by understanding customer needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
9. Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to build brand awareness and market.
10. Collaborate with the wider sales and service team within the other Business Units or Divisions to identify sales potentials.
11. Drive cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the wider product portfolio.
12. Work in conjunction with the current Business Manager and Head of Sales, with a long-term view to taking full ownership of regional sales operations.
13. Coordinate closely with the sales team, service engineers, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of contracts and projects.
14. Support the implementation of local and global sales strategies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
15. Assist sales admin with information during handover of new projects.
16. Provide detailed sales reports, forecasts, and CRM insights to senior management.
17. Track and analyze key business performance indicators, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
18. Collaborate with internal teams to enhance operational efficiency and sales effectiveness.
19. Work with product development teams to provide market insights and drive innovation in the valves and pumps sector.
20. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements, ensuring the business remains competitive.
Your profile and qualifications:
1. Degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, or management within the valves, pumps sector.
3. Strong commercial acumen with expertise in negotiation, contracting, and customer relationship management.
4. Experience in CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and networking skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
6. Willingness to travel as required to meet customers, attend industry events, and support sales efforts.
