Job summary
Mount Chamber Surgeryhas a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support the nursing team, either on a full time or a part-time basis (as part of a job share).
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the practice nurse lead, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
1. wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines.
2. new patient health checks.
3. re-stocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines.
4. clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
5. preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations.
6. providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.

We are a busy town centre practice based over two locations with 13,500 patients. We have our own in-house dispensary and we are also a training practice who has several registrars working alongside our partners and salaried GPs. Essential
11. Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC.
12. Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
13. Experience of working within a GP practice.

14. A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
