About the role
As a Maintenance Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our school environment. Working under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for addressing maintenance issues, managing health and safety concerns, and assisting with the setup of school events. Your duties will include:
1. Opening and closing the school
2. Responding to emergencies
3. Checking emails for maintenance requests
4. Distributing deliveries
5. Supervising the car park to ensure safety during drop-offs
6. Assisting with general maintenance tasks
7. Supporting the caretaker with necessary on-site tasks
Your commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing will be crucial, as you engage in training and report any concerns in line with school policies.
This is a permanent, full-time role needed all year round.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a proactive and reliable individual who possesses good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. You should have proven experience in maintenance duties (such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical etc.) and previous responsibility of Health and Safety in the workplace as well as compliance testing. A minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths are essential; qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely and First Aid are desirable. Additionally, your polite and professional manner, combined with a calm persona and strong organisational skills, will make you an excellent fit for our team.
