The Accounting Services Team are a part of the centralised shared services based across several locations in the UK, US and Asia. We are made up of thirty-seven staff supporting over twenty of the UK and overseas Agencies covering all aspects of finance, from day-to-day accounting to the preparation of group submissions
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to work with our senior Finance team to support one global agency group within the network. The key purpose of the role is to support the Financial Accountant and assist in the production of monthly management accounts and management information packs, assisting client services staff with queries regarding the job costing system and and cost variances.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assistance with the monthly management accounts including month end WIP and accruals, prepayment calculations, payroll journals, balancing of control accounts
• Maintaining fixed asset registers, posting depreciation and reconciliation with nominal ledger
• Posting month end journals in multiple currencies
• Reconciling nominal accounts/spread sheets
• Reviewing TB and investigating & correcting anomalies
• Reviewing, analysing, and checking foreign exchange accounting entries
• Preparation of cashflow forecasts
• Supporting the wide team with debt collection and processing when required.
• Ensure all income has been recorded and that costs are accurate and in line with expectations
• Preparation of VAT returns and equivalent submissions for overseas subsidiaries.
• Preparation and submission of State and Federal statutory returns for US subsidiary
• Assisting with the preparation of data for the external audit
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
ABOUT THE PERSON:
This opportunity will suit a MAAT or qualified/part qualified ACCA/ICAEW/CIMA accountant.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills along with amazing communication and interpersonal skills.
You will be a part of a wider team whilst also being able to proactively focus on your own workload, showing initiative.
An interest in process improvement and driving operational efficiency would be beneficial.
Experience of working in a company with international branches/relationships would be beneficial.
This is a hybrid position with a preferred three days a week in the Christchurch office and occasional visits to the HQ in London.
