Job overview
As a General Manager within the Head & Neck Care Group you will be responsible for Ophthalmology services across the Humber.
You will be a dynamic and innovative individual driven by excellence. You will complement the existing team, embracing engagement, continuous improvement and lead by example with a values-based approach.
You will be a visible, accessible and strong leader, role modelling the behaviours and high standards that you expect of others with a strong understanding of all aspects surrounding RTT Wait Times.
You will be keen to develop both yourself and the service for the benefit of patients, and be expected to reflect the Group’s vision and values, contributing to the department, Care Group and corporate Group agendas.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of safe and effective Ophthalmology services, ensuring that all targets, deadlines and objectives are delivered as appropriate, achieving the performance and patient access targets for Ophthalmology.
They will provide appropriate managerial leadership to ensure the effective functioning of Ophthalmology services. They will be responsible for the effective management of human resource, financial resource, clinical governance and business planning arrangements.
The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of services within the service, and to the bed management rota.

Qualifications
* Degree level education, preferably in management or equivalent experience
* Management qualification and evidence of continued professional development
Experience
* Significant proven experience as a senior manager with an NHS organisation with specialist knowledge of managing acute clinical services
* Demonstrate evidence of sound financial/staff management
* Good working knowledge and understanding of the role of corporate services, eg Estates, facilities and IT
* Evidence of managing change
* Experience within an acute hospital setting
* Business planning and development
Skills
* Proven ability to obtain and consistently achieve results and targets
* Proven ability to deal with a range of data and information; taking appropriate actions from it
* Proven ability to influence change in those groups
* Excellent collaborative working skills and able to build strong relationships with clinical leads

* Working knowledge of MS Office for typing, amending and proof reading documents
