Description
Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery to ensure minimal downtime. Diagnose electrical faults and issues across plant equipment, implementing timely solutions to prevent production delays. Assist in mechanical maintenance and repairs when required, supporting the team to ensure all machinery is fully operational. Participate in cross-training to enhance mechanical skills, contributing to a multi-skilled team environment. Conduct routine testing and calibration of equipment and systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Verify electrical components for proper functionality, replacing parts when necessary to maintain high production standards. Utilise technical skills to identify and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues efficiently. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to assist in problem-solving and maintenance tasks. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring that all work meets company safety standards. Conduct regular safety checks on electrical systems, promptly addressing any hazards or non-compliance. Identify and suggest improvements for operational efficiency, supporting lean manufacturing and cost-saving initiatives. Work collaboratively with team members to implement new processes, drive quality, and increase equipment reliability Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in line with company procedures. Provide regular reports to the Maintenance Manager on equipment status, repairs completed, and any identified risks.
Profile
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; 17th or 18th Edition qualification is preferred. Previous experience as an Electrical Maintenance or Multi-Skilled Engineer in a production or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of PLCs, control systems, and both electrical and mechanical systems. Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
