Main duties of the job:
1. Plan, facilitate and evaluate training for bands 2-4 nursing workforce.
2. Work in partnership with the Head of Apprentices to deliver high quality Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) apprenticeship.
3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support development of the band 2-4 workforce.
4. Manage the creation and delivery of in-house and external educational offerings to support the education and career progression of bands 2-4 nursing staff.
5. Develop and support Clinical Nurse Educators/practitioners in the practice setting regarding band 2-4 competency setting.
6. Provide ongoing support and preceptorship for Registered Nursing Associates.
7. Provide education and training that supports clinical practice educators across the trust.
About Us:
We are seeking a highly motivated, committed, and passionate individual to take up the post of Lead Nurse Band 2-4 Development. You must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to manage the bands 2-4 education team and support the Head of Education Nursing Education and Workforce/Nursing Workforce Lead in the development, implementation and quality monitoring of bands 2-4 education.
Candidate should possess qualifications to demonstrate they are working at this level and have at least 2 years experience as a band 6.
Job responsibilities:
1. Plan, facilitate and evaluate training, educational and developmental interventions ensuring educational aims and objectives meet the relevant aspects of the appropriate curriculum and national priorities for the bands 2-4 nursing workforce.
2. Work in partnership with the Head of Apprentices to deliver high quality Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) apprenticeship programmes for Nursing and Midwifery Assistants.
3. Support a Trainee Nursing Associate Apprenticeship programme that meets the workforce demand.
4. Manage the creation and delivery of in-house and external educational offerings to support the education and career progression of bands 2-4 nursing staff.
5. Develop and support Clinical Nurse Educators/practitioners in the practice setting to undertake competency assessment.
6. Provide ongoing support and preceptorship for Registered Nursing Associates.
7. Provide education and training that supports clinical practice educators across the trust.
Person Specification:
Qualifications Essential:
* Degree-educated Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration.
* Post Graduate Certificate in Education/ significant experience of teaching in an acute care setting.
* Mentorship / Practice Assessor qualification.
* Evidence of continuing personal development.
Knowledge, Training & Experience Essential:
* Experience of working in a range of clinical settings.
* Experience of developing band 2-4 clinical staff.
* Current experience of assessing clinical skills.
* Experience of developing staff development and education programmes.
* Experience of working with staff across a range of disciplines and levels.
Analytical & Judgment Skills Essential:
* Significant and demonstrable understanding of nursing education, specifically relating to the bands 2-4 workforce.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical solutions.
Planning & Organisational Skills Essential:
* Ability to lead by example, promoting the highest standards of personal and professional conduct.
* High level of work organisation and self-motivation.
