Key Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant in one of their Post 16 SEND classes, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a small group of young adults who have diverse needs. Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating effectively with the class teacher and fellow Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Providing one-on-one and group support to students with MLD, Down Syndrome, ASC, and SEMH needs. Implementing and adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of each student. Assisting with behaviour management, applying your skills to create a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere. Building strong and nurturing relationships with students to promote their social and emotional well-being. Supporting students in developing essential life skills and independence as they transition to adulthood. Contributing to the assessment and monitoring of student progress. Qualifications and Requirements: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to establish a positive and structured classroom environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with young adults. A patient and empathetic approach to working with students with diverse needs. Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
