Student Nurse Associate (Apprenticeship) - Band 3
Salisbury City Community Team
30 or 37.5 Hours per week - Fixed Term 24 months
We are a responsive Community Healthcare organisation that places the values of Caring, Compassion and Quality at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.
We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes, and from several hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to train to become a Nursing Associate with Wiltshire Health and Care LLP.
With posts available in a variety of areas across Wiltshire, successful candidates will be flexible with location to meet the needs of our services.
This is an excellent opportunity to train as you earn whilst completing a Level 5 apprenticeship. Student Nursing Associates typically attend lessons one day per week on average, using a blended learning approach of online and in-person training, including clinical skills days in either Southampton, Bath or Bristol. Student Nursing Associates are based in one service area and also undertake four placements in different locations/teams over the two-year training. Therefore, there will be the requirement to travel as part of this program.
Main duties of the job
You will be supported to learn on the job by the healthcare team and a dedicated work-based tutor.
We are proud of our staff and support career progression. Successful Student Nurse Associates who complete the two-year training course and become registered will be offered an opportunity to apply and interview for a permanent job as a Band 4 Nursing Associate, although this may not be in the team where the apprenticeship was undertaken.
Minimum Requirements
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate at least 12 months caring experience, have achieved a relevant NVQ level 2 or 3 or equivalent, Care Certificate, Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English, or GCSE Level C or above in English and Maths.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship, the following rules from the Department for Education apply:
* Applicants must have been a UK resident for at least 3 years.
* If not a UK National, applicants must hold an appropriate Visa/work permit exceeding the length of their apprenticeship.
* Applicants are not and will not be for the duration of their apprenticeship, receiving student loan payments from Student Finance England.
Interview date and venue to be confirmed.
