Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing financial insights, supporting decision making, and ensuring the smooth financial operation of our two trading companies. The candidate should have a strong background in manufacturing finance, cost control, and management reporting.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis
o Prepare monthly management accounts for both trading companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
o Support the Finance Director in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
o Assist in year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors.
o Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.
2. Cost & Performance Management
o Conduct cost analysis to improve profitability and cost efficiencies in the manufacturing process.
o Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs, including wastage, productivity, and cost per unit.
o Work closely with operations and procurement teams to improve cost control.
3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
o Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure optimal working capital levels.
o Oversee credit control and supplier payment schedules.
4. Compliance & Controls
o Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax obligations, and corporate policies.
o Implement and maintain strong financial controls and process improvements.
o Assist with VAT returns, payroll, and other regulatory reporting.
5. Systems & Process Improvement
o Support the implementation and improvement of finance systems to enhance reporting and efficiency.
o Develop dashboards and reporting tools for better business insights.
o Identify and implement efficiencies in finance and operational processes.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
* Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
* Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large datasets.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence business decisions.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
