THE GIG
Supporting the EMEA Finance team to undertake monthly opex management for central support costs, ensuring accruals and prepayments are prepared and opex is reported and forecast accurately. Ensuring monthly reporting packs for the region are reconciled and complete, and ready for review by EMEA Management.
As our Assistant Finance Analyst you will be responsible for:
1. Prepare and maintain monthly accruals and prepayments for central support functions (Legal, HR, IT, Finance, Marketing), ensuring robust and auditable backups, while preparing monthly reporting packs for department heads with key variances and corrective actions.
2. Investigate and explain variances to budget/forecast, proposing corrective actions, and assist with monthly cost reporting (‘Cost Book’) and associated variance analysis.
3. Partner with the EMEA Marketing team to assess the financial impact of campaigns and maintain updated country cost trackers, while supporting Finance business partners with ad-hoc duties across Retail, Digital, and Wholesale channels.
4. Oversee the preparation and consolidation of EMEA budgets and forecasts for central support functions, ensuring accuracy and alignment.
5. Drive efficiency and process improvement by leveraging D365 and Power BI to implement new reporting and planning processes aligned with best practices.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
1. Be AAT qualified, studying towards a professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA), or have relevant experience in a similar role.
2. Possess strong independent work ethic, time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines, alongside a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
3. Demonstrate intermediate Excel skills (e.g., vlookups, sumifs), experience with large data sets, and operational proficiency in finance systems, ideally D365.
4. Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
5. Communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues, supported by good interpersonal skills and a questioning mindset.
