The Team:
CYMHS is undergoing a reform process with many exciting programs being developed and opportunities to be part of this in an MDT Professional Development supported for the successful applicant.
The Role:
As part of the MDT providing specialist interventions to young people with severe and complex mental health issues, you will be part of the assessment team providing crisis intervention and support to those presenting in crisis situations.
You will need:
* Extensive experience and demonstrated specialist level knowledge of contemporary mental health nursing and an understanding of mental health issues in relation to children, adolescents, and their families, in both inpatient and community settings.
* Proven ability to provide a range of assessments and therapeutic interventions relevant for children, adolescents, and families accessing services and the ability to acquire further expertise in this area.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge of other services and agencies in the context of providing specialist mental health assessment, advice, and training, including the capacity to develop and maintain partnerships with a broad range of key local stakeholders.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, along with the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise and consult effectively with stakeholders and other service providers. An ability to develop comprehensive oral and written reports.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan and a capacity to contribute towards the introduction of the model of care within a community setting.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Eligibility:
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
* Current Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
* Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
* Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
* Current Driver’s Licence
