Area General Manager - Senior FM
My client is one of the largest FM & BE companies in the world, looking for someone with experience managing multi-site and multi-account businesses. The client base is primarily in the higher education sector; while this is advantageous, it is not a pre-requisite.
You will lead a team of 3-5 Account Directors, with the business mostly London-based, and some travel across the Home Counties. A technical FM hard services background would be beneficial, as well as strong P&L experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined contract, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.
2. Ensuring that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensuring additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re-won on re-tender.
3. Communicating and implementing business policies and processes effectively within the contract.
4. Ensuring the provision of healthy and safe working conditions, implementing both client and company health and safety policies across all activities, and conducting regular reviews.
5. Ensuring optimum staffing structures operate across contracts, balancing cost reduction with the delivery of service excellence, and supporting workload peaks and troughs, including disaster recovery.
6. Ensuring contracts are staffed by fully competent teams, and that effective succession planning arrangements are in place.
7. Collaborating with other operational managers for the development of the business and effective team-working.
8. Developing contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction, and contract growth, ensuring these are met and exceeded.
9. Establishing appropriate control systems to meet statutory, policy, and contractual commitments.
10. Maintaining a customer focus in all operational activities and effective relationships with key client contacts.
11. Promoting and maintaining the core values of THE COMPANY GWS.
12. Providing leadership, guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support for best practice in selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
13. Delivering effective business communication through advice, review, leadership, and direct contributions to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, and reporting.
14. Supporting the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and supporting mobilization on new contracts.
15. Creating a learning environment with appropriate training and development planning to ensure employees are fully competent and can reach their full potential.
Accountabilities:
1. Reporting to a THE COMPANY Business Unit Director.
2. Accountability to the THE COMPANY functional heads, as appropriate.
3. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
4. Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
5. Financial responsibility for the delivery of commitments for the contract.
